Like many today, Merton Russell-Cotes was fascinated by celebrities, and often moved in the same circles as the great and the good of Victorian society.
Nick Hawkin presents a talk on two celebrated actors, Lewis Waller (1860-1915) and Henry Irving (1838-1905), who both stayed at the Royal Bath Hotel and whose impressive portraits in character are hung in the historic house. Enormously successful and influential as actors and theatrical managers, these two gentlemen thespians were the superstars of their day.
Sunday 17th March, 2pm
Entry to the talk is £2, or free for Friends of the Russell-Cotes.
