Adventures in Colour with Michelle Rumney
Inspired by the rich range of colours to be found in the Museum’s galleries, this series of workshops gives you the opportunity to think and look at art creatively, and have the time and space to develop your own artwork with an artist’s guidance on hand throughout.
We’ll be exploring with colours, delving deep into each of them, one by one. Beginning with the primary colours: Red, Yellow and Blue… just bring a notebook, a phone or camera if you have one, and your curiosity.
Adventures in Red: Saturday April 8th, 10:00 – 12:30
Join us for an overview of some of the key reds in the Museum collections; including painting, sculpture, textiles, and parts of the building itself.
This is an opportunity to slow down, tune in, and absorb visual ideas; paying attention to the ways that different artists have used reds in their work, helping inform and inspire your own way of working.
In addition to exploring the galleries, we’ll be discussing our responses and discoveries and working freely with a range of materials to further develop your own unique palette and expression of colour.
