To mark the centenary of the end of the Great War, Curator Duncan Walker has chosen a selection of objects from our collections, reflecting on the changes to society brought about by this world-changing event.
The display will be split into four themes: Warfare, Homefront, Propaganda, and Peace and will feature military memorabilia, propaganda, artwork, artefacts and the cartoons of Eustace Nash, one of Bournemouth’s most talented artists. The Russell-Cotes has an extensive collection of works from Nash’s time as cartoonist at the Bournemouth Graphic. Those featured in this display will depict his observations of life during the First World War, including life on the home front, women in the work place, and rationing.
Duncan is also giving a talk to accompany this exhibition, please see details below.
