Volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the museum and contribute to many different areas of our work.
It is a great way of getting involved in a unique historic house, with an international collection and to give something back to the community in an enjoyable way.
Anyone can volunteer. We have people looking to gain up-to-date skills to help them return to work after a career break, retired people wishing to make a contribution to their community and those in work but wanting to share their skills.
Others are looking to go into further education and, volunteering with us, helps them gain invaluable experience.
For those at the beginning of their career, it can also be a good way to gain insight and experience in a particular area.
