Chatelaine
A silver chain, a necklace or a chatelaine, with two shell design brooches in green enamel that form a clasp. It was worn by Sara Bernhardt and given to Merton Russell-Cotes by her. Written on the case for it (not on display) is the following: ‘Worn by Madame Sara Bernhardt in one of impersonations + given to us, as a souvenir after the last visit to us. 28th April 1916. MRC East Cliff Hall’.
