The Finishing Touch

Bromley, who predominantly painted sentimental scenes of young children and animals, appears to have painted a self-portrait. The artist in the painting shows intense concentration. His brushes are scattered on the ground and his drink of choice is conveniently to hand.

The painting was bequeathed to the museum in 1995.
