Vases, 19th century

A pair of yellow Chinese vases decorated with dragons and flowers. The fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac, the dragon represents good luck and power. Historically, the Chinese dragon was associated with the Emperor of China. Chinese dragons are strongly associated with water and weather and are believed to be the rulers of moving bodies of water, such as waterfalls, rivers, or seas.
