Museum Late: The Art of a Love Letter

Experience the magic of the museum at night with local pianist Hope Schacter playing in the Main Hall and live contemporary dance performances in Gallery II at 5.30, 6.15 and 7pm.

View a pop-up Fine Art and Illustration Exhibition in our Café Gallery of artwork inspired by love letters and the Russell-Cotes’ love story.

Workshops with the literary experts, How to write a perfect love letter with Arts University Creative Writing Students in the Café.

We will be holding a variety of talks throughout the historic house including: 

– Queen Victoria in Love and her letters in the Drawing Room
– The Greatest Love Story ever told…Psyche at the Throne Venus in the Galleries
– Norwegian Mangle boards in the Yellow Room (upstairs)
– The Billet Doux and the art of Love Letters in the Dining Room

There will be Japanese themed cocktails inspired by Annie and Merton’s six week trip to Japan in 1885, such as cherry blossom gin or a Japanese whisky highball from 5-7:30pm

This event is in collaboration with Arts University Bournemouth.
