Museum Late: The Joy of Tea

Thursday 17 November, 5pm – 8pm

‘Tea is the only simple pleasure left to us’ – Oscar Wilde

Join us for our monthly late opening. This month we are celebrating the humble cup of tea, exploring its origins and uses and its complex history.

Expect Spotlight Talks, Tea Tastings with Poole’s tea specialists It’s Tea; Museum Object Handling, a history of India and Tea with Dr Sam Goodman, and more.

“Yes, that’s it! Said the Hatter with a sigh, it’s always tea time” – The Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland

Get in the true spirit of tea by pre-booking a seasonal Afternoon Tea.

Standard admission charges apply.

‘If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth and beauty’ – Japanese proverb

Third Thursday Club

Our Museum Lates take place every third Thursday of the month, exploring a different theme each time. Why not consider joining the Friends of the Russell-Cotes, which includes free admission to the museum for a year, including to each of the monthly Third-Thursday-Club Museum Lates?
