Sixpence Day

Celebrating 100 Years!

This year we are celebrating our centenary, and throughout the year we are offering specific days that our visitors have the chance to enjoy the historic house for the 1922 Thursday admission price of sixpence.

Whilst the original sixpence stopped being legal tender in 1980, visitors can bring along 6p in today’s money!

Entry on this day will be free but we welcome any donation of 6p or more!

Open 10am – 5pm.

Additional Information

Please be aware this day is not pre-bookable, just come along.
It may be a busy day so please be aware that if the building is at full capacity you may be asked to wait outside until there is space inside the museum. There may be a queue, but a friendly colleague will be managing the flow of visitors in and out of the building.
Please note we are unable to facilitate large group visits on this day.
