Finding Wellness in Art and Creativity– Get inspired by Paintings in the Collection
This workshop explores the benefits of art and art appreciation on mental and physical wellbeing. It consists of a reflective group discussion and a more personal practical session.
We will start with a short tour of the historic house, looking at artworks and design features that reflect the theme of fruit and fruitfulness. After a short break participants will have an opportunity to respond artistically to these works and themes, possibly drawing on your own experiences as well. The aim is to allow for personal reflection and immersion in an artistic process that will both be stimulating and relaxing.
There will be guidance and support, taking into account the various artistic starting points. Drawing materials (fine liners, colouring pens and paper/card) are included.
This workshop is led by Sabine Stroud. Sabine is a retired assistant headteacher with a passionate interest in art and developing an individual approach to art appreciation – the main emphasis being on relaxation, reflection and relating!
